FG Unveils YEIDEP Grant to Support Youth Entrepreneurs | How to Apply

Exciting news for Nigerian youth entrepreneurs!

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the upcoming launch of the Youth Empowerment and Innovation Development Programme (YEIDEP)  a powerful initiative aimed at supporting young people who own small businesses or are looking to start one. Beginning July 2025, the government will start disbursing non-repayable grants to eligible applicants across the country.

This bold move highlights the governmental commitment to empowering young Nigerians and strengthening the country small business sector.

What is YEIDEP?

The Youth Empowerment and Innovation Development Programme (YEIDEP) is a strategic initiative designed to fuel youth entrepreneurship in Nigeria. So far, over 4.6 million young Nigerians have shown interest by registering for the program.

Under YEIDEP, successful applicants will receive business grants ranging from ₦50,000 to ₦500,000, which they do not need to repay. These funds are targeted at helping young entrepreneurs either launch or expand businesses in critical sectors such as:

  1. Agriculture
  2. ICT and Digital Services
  3. Fashion and Tailoring
  4.  Retail and Commerce
  5. Vocational Skills and Trades

The core aim of YEIDEP is to bridge the funding gap for young business owners, especially those in underserved or rural areas, and give them a real shot at success.

Why YEIDEP Matters for Nigeria’s Youth

By investing in the next generation of entrepreneurs, the Federal Government is not only reducing unemployment but also paving the way for innovation, financial independence, and sustainable economic growth. If you’re a young Nigerian with a dream to build a business, YEIDEP could be your breakthrough opportunity.
