Co-founder of Twitter Jack Dorsey launched the social media network Bluesky as a side project back in 2019. It was designed to be a decentralized social network as a substitute for well-known social media sites like Twitter. Bluesky was first tightly linked to Twitter but has subsequently evolved into a separate organization. 2021 it was founded in the US as a public benefit corporation.
